Who We Are

Hope Distributed is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia and is a nonprofit corporation as defined and provided for in Chapter 10 of Title 13.1 of the Code of Virginia. Established in October of 2004, the first day it was opened to the public 12 individuals were served. Currently Hope Distributed serves more than 34,000 individuals and provides over 1,200,000 pounds of food.

Through four distinct branches of operation, a Food Pantry, a free Clothing Store, Home to Home free furniture warehouse, and Baby Hope free baby supplies, Hope Distributed is dedicated to supply food, clothing, furniture, and baby necessities to individuals and families that are struggling financially, have been displaced, or who have experienced an unexpected change in their life circumstances.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide and promote social well-being to the citizens of Rockingham County and surrounding localities by providing relief to low-income individuals and families with food and clothing in a dignified and respectful manner.

Membership

Hope Distributed is a member agency of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Feeding America. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank works with partner agencies to distribute food throughout 25 counties and 9 cities through distribution centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester and Verona. Founded in 1981, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is the largest organization alleviating hunger in Western and Central Virginia.

Feeding America is a national organization supporting more than 200 food banks across the country, and the largest domestic hunger relief agency in the U.S.

The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) provides basic necessities required to build the strong foundations all children, families, and individuals need to thrive and reach their full potential. We work in partnership with our Network of diaper banks, allied programs, donors, sponsors, and elected officials to end diaper need and period poverty in the United States.
